The Battle of Five Armies is een spel voor twee spelers waarmee je het epische slot van The Hobbit, het wereldberoemde meesterwerk van J.R.R. Tolkien. De Shadow-speler voert het bevel over de legers van Bolg, de koning van de Goblins van Mount Gundabad, terwijl de Free Peoples-speler de controle heeft over Mannen, Dwergen en Elfen, geleid door Gandalf om het goblin-leger af te weren.

Gebaseerd op de veelgeprezen mechanica die voor het eerst werd gebruikt in het War of the Ring-bordspel, combineert The Battle of Five Armies actiedobbelstenen en gebeurteniskaarten, om van elk spel een unieke ervaring te maken. Het systeem is verder verbeterd door de toevoeging van het “Fate Track”-mechanisme, dat de komst van de geallieerden en het activeren van speciale evenementen afhandelt. De Slag om de Vijf Legers bevat 126 plastic figuren, met alle hoofdpersonen van de strijd, en nog veel meer componenten van topkwaliteit.

The Battle of Five Armies is a two-players game that allows you to re-create the epic conclusion of The Hobbit, the world-renowned masterpiece by J.R.R. Tolkien. The Shadow player commands the armies of Bolg, the King of the Goblins of Mount Gundabad, while the Free Peoples player is in control of Men, Dwarves, and Elves, led by Gandalf to fend off the goblin army.
