LEBENSRAUM! is een groots strategisch spel met gemiddelde complexiteit over de oorlog tussen nazi-Duitsland en de geallieerden, beginnend met de Duitse invasie van de USSR eind juni 1941, tot aan de laatste veldslagen om Berlijn in 1945. Het spel omvat zowel Oost- als West-Duitsland. Fronts, en kan worden gespeeld in een aantal kleine (3 tot 13) historische scenario’s, beginnend met Barbarossa in het Oosten en Italië in het Westen, of in campagnes voor elk front afzonderlijk, of een gecombineerde campagne aan het Oost- en Westfront.
De game richt zich op het niveau van de legergroep, waarbij spelers ondergeschikte legers besturen als hun belangrijkste gevechtsformaties. Leiderschap is een belangrijk onderdeel van het spel, waarbij elke speler een pool van benoemde en beoordeelde leiders tot zijn beschikking heeft. Luchtmacht, marinesteun, partizanen, productiecentra en transportnetwerken komen allemaal aan bod. De beurten zijn elk kwartaal, met een kaartschaal van 50 mijl (80 km) per vakje.
Dit spel is een nieuwe editie van de Simulations Canada-spellen van Lebensraum en West Front. De twee spellen zijn bijgewerkt met alle bekende errata en enkele kleine toevoegingen en zijn gecombineerd tot één spel, maar kunnen als afzonderlijke scenario’s worden gespeeld. Met fris nieuw artwork is er nu nieuw leven in dit grote, strategische levelspel geblazen.

LEBENSRAUM! is a grand strategic, moderate complexity game of the war between Nazi Germany and the Allied Nations, starting with the German invasion of the USSR in late June of 1941, through to the final battles to Berlin in 1945. The game includes both East and West Fronts, and can be played in a number of small (3 to 13) turn historical scenarios starting with Barbarossa in the East and Italy in the West, or in campaigns for each front individually, or a combined East and West front campaign.
The game focuses on the Army group level, with players controlling subordinate armies as their main combat formations. Leadership is a major component of the game, with each player having a pool of named and rated leaders available. Airpower, naval support, partisans, production centers, and transportation networks are all featured. Turns are quarterly, with a map scale of 50 miles (80km) per hex.
This game is a new edition of the Simulations Canada games of Lebensraum and West Front. The two games have been updated to include all known errata, some small additions, and have been combined into one game, but can be played as separate scenarios. With fresh new artwork this large, strategic level game now has lew life breathed into it.
